About the Internship
Swaraj is a News App built by Anicca Labs.Swaraj (swarajapp.com) is a citizen-led news media platform for raising civic issues and holding government institutions accountable. Users report real problems from potholes to systemic failures, and the platform builds public pressure through decentralized, trust-based media. We're building the infrastructure for participatory democracy in India. This is a founding news & social media (internship) opportunity for someone ready to go all in. You'll work directly with the founder, help define the voice of Swaraj, and take ownership of stories, content, and community engagement.
Selected intern's day-to-day responsibilities include:
1. Write short, credible news updates on civic issues submitted by citizens
2. Curate and research important developments across India — from potholes to policy
3. Manage our social media channels (Instagram, LinkedIn, Twitter/X, YouTube Shorts)
4. Create engaging content formats — reels, infographics, carousels, headlines, and newsletters
5. Help shape our launch strategy, content calendar, and tone of voice
6. Edit short videos and design visuals for posts (good to have)
7. Strategize and respond to citizen feedback and criticism on main accounts with wit and dignity
8. Listen deeply to citizens and amplify their voices with sharpness and respect
