About the Job
Key responsibilities:1. Interpret architectural plans and convert them into line diagrams for structural framing of residential, industrial, or other structures.
2. Perform structural analysis and design using software such as STAAD Pro, ETABS, Enercalc, and WOODWORKS.
3. Apply structural loads as per project requirements and relevant codes; design using or create spreadsheets based on applicable codes.
4. Follow and apply knowledge of Indian and American codes, including IBC.
5. Design RCC and Steel structures; designing timber and load-bearing structures will be an added advantage.
6. Adapt to a fast-paced learning environment and deliver accurate drawings using AutoCAD or similar software, with quick turnarounds from markups.
7. Manage additional design-related responsibilities including drawings, spreadsheets, reports, and documentation.
8. Conduct site visits as needed to verify construction work against provided drawings or to take necessary measurements.
9. Adhere to project deadlines and be open to working late hours when required.
10. Show eagerness to learn and work on diverse structural types such as RCC, steel, wood, light gauge steel, and load-bearing structures.
11. Prepare BOQ, Check shop drawings, details etc. for steel structures.
12. Help in documents and standardisation, process charts, inhouse training material etc.
Requirements:
1. Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
2. Proficiency in design software such as STAAD Pro, ETABS, WOODWORKS, and AutoCAD.
3. Strong understanding of both Indian and American building codes (IBC).
4. Hands-on experience in designing RCC and steel structures; timber structure design experience is a plus.
5. Good command over MS Excel and ability to create or work with code-based design spreadsheets.
6. Ability to manage deadlines, adapt quickly to project needs, and work collaboratively.
7. Willingness to travel for site visits and stay flexible with working hours.
8. A proactive attitude with a strong willingness to learn new structural systems and tools.
