What is LLM?

 

LLM full form is Latin Legum Magister, which means Master of Laws. As per Latin, a letter is repeated to shorten the plural form of a word. Therefore, “LL” suggests “laws.” Then, “Legum” is the possessive plural form of the Latin word lex, meaning “specific laws”. “Magister” is taken from the word “magis”, which means master or teacher.

 

It is a two-year postgraduate program in the domain of law. Students who have completed LLB (Bachelor of Law) and wants to pursue higher studies and specializations in law opt for LLM degree.
