Job Description – Junior Legal Associate (Intellectual Property Rights & LegalTech)

Position: Junior Legal Associate – Intellectual Property Rights (IPR)
Location: Noida  (Client Engagements)
Qualification: LLB Graduate (with IPR specialization) or LLM in IPR

1. IP filing & prosecution (Trademark, Copyright, Patent, Industrial Design, GI).

3. Legal automation tools for portfolio management, IP compliance dashboards, and AI-based IP search.
4. You’ll contribute to shaping an IPR practice that’s tech-driven, global, and future-ready.
 
B. Selected intern’s day-to-day responsibilities include:
 I.  IPR Legal Work
1. Draft and file Trademark, Copyright, and Patent applications.
2. Conduct IP searches, oppositions, and renewals using online databases.
3. Handle Industrial Design registration and documentation.
4. Assist in Geographical Indication (GI) filings and compliance requirements.
5. Prepare legal opinions, case briefs, and client advisory notes on IP matters.
II.   Tech & LegalTech Development
1. Collaborate in building IP portfolio management software.
2. Use AI-powered tools for trademark search, copyright similarity checks, and patent prior-art analysis.
3. Work on automation of filings, compliance tracking, and reporting dashboards.
4. Integrate tools like Notion, NotebookLM, Perplexity, Apify/Scrapy (for data extraction), and Google Drive for knowledge management.
5. Support in developing IP APIs for search, filings, and compliance monitoring.
 
C.    Skills & Knowledge Required
 I.      Legal Knowledge
1. Trademark Law: Filing, classification (Nice Classification), opposition proceedings, renewals.
2. Copyright Law: Registration process, literary/artistic works, software & digital content protection.
3. Patent Law: Drafting specifications, filing process with IPO, PCT applications, prior-art search.
4. Industrial Designs: Application process, novelty requirement, classification, protection scope.
5. Geographical Indications (GI): Filing, collective ownership, documentation requirements.
II.   Technical Competencies
1. Familiarity with IP databases (WIPO, IPO, USPTO, EUIPO).
2. Understanding of IP management software and SaaS workflows.
3. Knowledge of RAG-based AI pipelines for legal Q&A and IP compliance.
4. Tools: Notion, NotebookLM, Perplexity AI, Google Drive, MS Office/Canva (for presentations).
5. Exposure to OCR tools, APIs, and database integrations for legal software development (preferred).
III.   Professional Skills
1. Drafting and research excellence.
2. Analytical mindset for IP strategy & portfolio building.
3. Tech adaptability with interest in legal software development.
4. Clear communication for client advisory & training.
D.    Growth Path
1. Trainee / Jurionship (6 Months): Hands-on training in IP filings, tech tools, and client projects.
2. Junior Legal Associate: Handle independent IP filings, assist in software development, contribute to IP automation solutions.
3. IPR Specialist / Tech-Law Associate: Lead IP projects, manage IP SaaS dashboards, handle global filings.
