About the Internship
As a Backend Engineering Intern, you will work on designing and implementing secure, scalable backend systems with a strong focus on bulletproof security practices, authentication flows (JWT, OAuth, API keys), and SDK integrations (payments, storage, email).This internship will give you real-world exposure to production-grade backend engineering with a focus on security-first architecture.
Key Responsibilities
1. Design and implement secure backend APIs with multiple authentication flows (JWT, OAuth 2.0, API keys).
2. Develop and maintain a credit-based system for user actions and payments.
Integrate with third-party SDKs (Stripe/Razorpay, AWS S3/Cloudflare R2, SendGrid/Mailgun).
3. Implement and enforce role-based access control (RBAC) across the system.
Apply security best practices, including:
1. Password hashing (bcrypt/argon2)
2. Token rotation & revocation
3. API rate limiting & throttling
4. Input validation & sanitization
Write clear documentation for authentication flows, credit logic, and API usage.
Work closely with mentors to learn secure coding, scalable architecture, and industry practices.
Skills Required
1. Node.js / Express.js (or Python/FastAPI, NestJS)
2. REST API development
3. Authentication (JWT, OAuth 2.0, API keys)
4. Secure coding practices (bcrypt/argon2, CSRF protection, HTTPS)
5. Database design (PostgreSQL/MySQL, MongoDB/Redis)
6. Familiarity with payment SDKs (Stripe, Razorpay, PayPal)
7. Cloud SDKs (AWS S3, GCP, Cloudflare R2)
8. Knowledge of RBAC, rate limiting, and audit logging
Who Can Apply:

2. Must have prior experience with Node.js/Python backend projects.
3. Familiarity with credit-based systems, tokens, or SDK integrations will be a plus.
