About the Internship
Are you passionate about mental health and making a difference in people's lives? Join our team at Vandrevala Foundation as a Mental Health Helpline Crisis Counselor intern! In this role, you will have the opportunity to provide support and guidance to individuals in crisis, helping them navigate through difficult situations and find the help they need.Selected intern's day-to-day responsibilities include:
1. Providing empathetic and nonjudgmental support to individuals in crisis over the phone.
2. Assessing the severity of each caller's situation and providing appropriate interventions.
3. Collaborating with a team of mental health professionals to ensure the safety and well-being of callers.
4. Documenting all interactions and providing follow-up support as needed.
5. Participating in ongoing training and professional development opportunities.
6. Demonstrating proficiency in English writing skills to effectively communicate with callers.
7. Applying knowledge of psychology to better understand and address the mental health needs of callers.
