About the Internship
Planning & procurement intern – job descriptionRole overview:
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented planning & procurement intern to support our supply chain operations. This internship provides hands-on exposure to demand planning, purchase planning, vendor management, and inventory optimization. The intern will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the smooth flow of materials from suppliers to production/warehouses.
Selected intern's day-to-day responsibilities include:
A. Planning & analysis:
1. Assist in preparing monthly and weekly demand and supply plans.
2. Support forecasting of material requirements based on sales trends and production schedules.
3. Monitor inventory levels, highlight gaps, and recommend replenishment actions.
B. Procurement support:
1. Assist in raising purchase requisitions and purchase orders.
2. Coordinate with suppliers for quotations, lead times, and deliveries.
3. Follow up on pending orders and update tracking sheets.
C. Data & reporting:
1. Maintain and analyze data on purchase history, supplier performance, and inventory movement.
2. Generate reports such as stock status, purchase vs. consumption trends, and supplier OTIF (On Time In Full) performance.
D. Process improvement:
1. Suggest opportunities to streamline procurement and planning workflows.
2. Support digitalization/automation initiatives in supply chain tools or dashboards.
