To answer it all, there shouldn’t be much room for worry as there are ample top engineering colleges that will offer admission to such students based on their JEE Main scores. Admission to NITs

NITs are one of the best choices if not qualified for JEE Advance. The National Institute of Technology (NIT) is one of the pioneer engineering institutes across the country with exceptional teaching standards and placement opportunities. It is advisable for students who haven’t qualified for JEE Advance to attend the JEE Main Counselling sessions which will help them to get admission at NITs.

NIT Registration Process

NITs offer admission based on the JEE Main scores. Candidates are also advised to register for the Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA). Eligible candidates are requested to complete the registration process to undergo the JoSAA counseling process. 

Students are advised to follow the below steps to complete the registration process:

  • Candidates should log in using their JEE Main test roll numbers.
  • The other necessary registration details will be collected from the candidate's JEE Main test forms.
  • The candidates must also update the contact details in the contact session for the counseling process. Candidates are also advised to change their password while registering for the counseling.

JoSAA Counseling Fee Payment

The fee payment details for JoSAA Counselling are listed below:

The fee for general candidates is INR 35,000 and for reserved candidates like SCs, STs, and PWDs it is INR 15,000. Fees can be paid through net banking or e-challan.

The qualified candidates must report to their assigned centers for document verification. The candidates must carry the original mark sheets and necessary documents along with them at the time of the verification process, and if they fail to produce the necessary documents, they will not be given admission.

There are institutes other than IITs and NITs that offer admission to students who haven’t qualified for the JEE Advance. Candidates should have also appeared for the state-level Engineering entrance exams.

  • It is advised that the institute is accredited by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC).
