MCA Admission 2022: The application process for MCA admission began in April 2022. Candidates are narrowed down by top colleges based on how well they performed in MCA entrance exams like NIMCET, IPU CET, TANCET, etc. However, some of the best MCA colleges shortlist the applicants based on merit, i.e., graduation performance, preferably in a BCA course.
MCA or Master of Computer Application is a 3-year postgraduate program for students seeking career in computer and IT technology. The Master of Computer application educates students about the aspects of computer programs, application software, operating systems, computer architecture, and more. Merit-based and entrance exam-based criteria are both used for MCA course admission. There are variety of entrance exams at the national (NIMCET), state (MAH CET, UPSEE, etc.), and university levels (BHU PET, VITEEE, etc.) level to grant MCA admissions. Below is a detailed discussion of the Master of Computer Application (MCA) admissions process.
Few private colleges provide direct admission or admission based on merit to the MCA degree program. Candidates are chosen for admission on the basis of merit in their 10+2 or bachelor's degree scores. Through Management Quotas, direct admission to MCA courses is also available. In quota, there are some reserved seats, for which the prices are typically higher than those of regular MCA seat.
Candidates are shortlisted for entrance-based admission to MCA degree programs based on the results of the entrance exam they took. Following that, shortlisted candidates must participate in the counselling process.
Selected candidates may have to go through a group discussion or personal interview round after the counselling process, which is followed by a document verification procedure. Candidates must pay the admission fee to finally secure their admission into the college.
After graduating, candidates can register for a variety of MCA entrance exams. One of the most popular entrance exams for MCA is NIMCET. Some other MCA entrance exams in India include PG CET, UPCET, IPU CET, and TANCET.
