BITS Hyderabad Admission Process
Admission to Undergraduate Programs: The BITS Hyderabad offers B. E. and B. Pharm programs at the undergraduate level. The programs are offered by BITS Hyderabad under various specializations.
- Candidates seeking admission to B. E. and B. Pharm are shortlisted based on the Merit list released by the institute.
- The merit list is prepared based on candidates’ performance in the last qualifying examination.
- Besides, the candidates are required to have score valid marks in BITSAT examination conducted by the institute.

BITSAT stands for Birla Institute of Technology and Science Admission Test is conducted by BITS Pilani; it ensures admission to the courses offered by the institute. BITSAT Exam Pattern consists of 150 questions that must be solved within 3 hours.
- The examination is conducted through online mode.
- The question paper consists of questions from Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics/Biology, English Proficiency, and Logical Reasoning.
- Each correct answer is rewarded with 3 marks while there is a penalty of 1 mark for every incorrect answer.
- The question paper is of objective type, i.e. there are 4 options to each question out of which one option is correct.

Admission to Postgraduate Programs in BITS Pilani Hyderabad: M. E., M. Sc (Hons.), and M. Pharm are the postgraduate programs offered under BITS Hyderabad Courses. The candidates seeking admission to postgraduate programs must possess a bachelor’s degree in the relevant field.
- For admission to M. E. and M. Pharm programs, the candidates are required to go through an Online Test conducted by the institute at different centers.
- Shortlisted candidates are advised to sit through the counseling procedure conducted at the institute.
- Admission to M. Sc is done based on candidates’ performance in BITSAT.
Admission to Ph. D. in BITS Pilani Hyderabad: Ph. D. program is offered in full time and part time modes. The basic requirement for admission is to hold a master’s degree in the relevant field from a recognized university.
Departmental Entrance Test of BITS Pilani Hyderabad is conducted by the institute in order to shortlist students for the Ph. D. program. The students are required to qualify the test with a valid score.
- For admission to Ph. D., the candidates are shortlisted based on their performance in theDepartmental Entrance Test.
- Candidates with a valid score in CSIR UGC NET/ and GATE are also eligible to apply for admission to Ph. D. program. DST INSPIRE Scholarship holders are also allowed to become a part of admission procedure.
BITS Hyderabad Minimum Educational Qualification
Candidates seeking admission to any of the programs offered by the institute must ensure that they fulfill the minimum eligibility criteria defined by the institute. For Undergraduate Programs: The criteria for qualifying for the UG courses for BITS Pilani Hyderabad is given below:
- Candidates seeking admission to B. E. (Hons.) must have passed senior secondary school with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics from a recognized board.
- For admission to B. Pharm, the candidates must have passed senior secondary school with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology with main subjects.
- They must have obtained at least 75% marks in aggregate if they are to appear in BITSAT or they must obtain 60% marks in aggregate in PCM/B.
For Postgraduate Programs: The criteria for qualifying for the PG courses for BITS Hyderabad is given below:
- For admission to M. E., the candidates must possess a bachelor’s degree in the relevant field securing at least 60% marks in aggregate from a recognized university.
- Candidates seeking admission to M. Pharm must have completed Integrated First year (bachelor’s degree) in Pharmacy securing at least 60% marks in aggregate.
- Admission to M. Sc (Tech) requires a pass in B. Sc/BCA or any relevant undergraduate degree with at least 60% marks in aggregate.
- Candidates seeking admission to M. Sc (Hons.) must possess a bachelor’s degree in B. Sc or any relevant undergraduate degree securing at least 60% marks in aggregate.
For Ph. D. Programs: Candidates seeking admission to the Ph. D. programs offered by the BITS Pilani Hyderabad must possess a master’s degree in the relevant field securing at least 60% marks in aggregate.
BITS Hyderabad Application Process
BITS Hyderabad Admission Process accepts both online and offline mode of application. The candidates must visit the official website of the institute to fill the application form.
- Fill the application form available on the official website of the institute.
- The candidates must ensure that they have entered correct details as any incorrect detail may lead to cancelation of the candidature.
- The first rank holders of the state and central boards are being offered direct admission from 2019.
- While applying for BITSAT, the candidates must process the payment of INR 2950 (INR 2450 for female candidates) as application fee.

Bits pilani hyderabad review 4/5
Bits is one of the best colleges to be for a student as it is very flexible. The students set their own time table to teachers whom they prefer. They can even select the subjects which are to be included in the syllabus. The teachers are very co-operative and friendly. The percentage of attendance to be fulfilled by a student at end of semester can be even ZERO.
