About NIT Patna
NIT Patna also known as an autonomous institute which was established in the year 1886 by an act of parliament. NITP was formerly known as Bihar School of Engineering or Bihar College of Engineering and was renamed as NIT Patna by the Government of India on 28th January 2004.Â
The institute is funded by the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India, and offers Undergraduate, Post Graduate, and Research programs in the fields of Architecture, Engineering, and Science and technology.

NIT Patna BTech Eligibility Criteria
- The students who need to seek admission to the B.Tech program of NIT Patna are required to pass their 10+2 with physics, chemistry, mathematics and English as mandatory subjects.
- The students need to secure almost 60% or 6.5 CGPA in aggregate.Â

NIT Patna Admission
Admissions to Undergraduate engineering programs of NITP are provided based on candidates’ performance in the entrance examinations conducted for respective courses offered by NIT Patna:
- Admission to B. Tech to the college requires a valid score in the JEE Main Exam.
- Admission to B. Arch to NIT Patna is done based on candidates’ performance in the NATA Exam.

NIT Patna MURP Admissions 2024
NITP is offering a 2-year MURP (Master of Urban and Regional Planning) program with a total fee of around INR 1.7 Lakhs. In order to be eligible for this program of NIT, candidates need to have a BArch degree and must have attained a minimum of 60% or a CGPA of 6.5 during their undergraduate studies.
As per NIT Patna, the selection process for the MURP program will be based on the candidates’ GATE Exam rankings. Then the seat allocation as per the NIT Patna will take place following the successful completion of the CCMT counseling process, considering factors like previous academic records and seat availability as per the brochure of the college
