About the Role

We are looking for a Quantitative Developer Intern to join our team at AlgoBulls. This role sits at the intersection of software engineering, quantitative finance, and AI, contributing directly to the future of trading technology. You will play a pivotal role in enhancing our flagship product, Phoenix Copilot — an AI-powered assistant that helps traders design, test, and deploy quant strategies in plain English.
As a Quant Developer Intern, you will get hands-on experience with cutting-edge trading systems, working closely with our quant and engineering teams. This internship is designed as a pathway to a full-time role, where you may take on increasing ownership of trading infrastructure, strategy development, and AI-driven innovation.

Selected intern’s day-to-day responsibilities include:


1. Algo Strategy Implementation
- Convert research-driven trading ideas from analysts, clients, or quants into production-ready strategies.
- Optimize strategies for latency, slippage, and transaction costs.
- Validate robustness across diverse market scenarios.

2. Software & Systems Development
- Design and maintain scalable, high-performance trading infrastructure.
- Build reusable libraries, frameworks, and APIs to support quant research.
- Integrate seamlessly with brokers, exchanges, and market data providers.

3. Data Engineering & Management
- Develop pipelines for ingesting, cleaning, and managing large financial datasets.
- Ensure data integrity, accuracy, and low-latency access.
- Implement efficient storage and retrieval solutions for historical and real-time data.

4. Collaboration with Quant Team
- Partner with quants to convert models into deployable systems.
- Build tooling to accelerate backtesting, simulation, and validation.
- Bridge research insights with scalable engineering solutions.

5. Testing & Validation
- Develop rigorous testing frameworks for algo strategies before deployment.
- Conduct unit tests, regression tests, and scenario-based stress tests.
- Ensure seamless CI/CD integration with automated backtesting and paper-trading pipelines.
Validate performance consistency across historical, simulated, and live environments.

6. Performance & Optimization
- Profile and optimize systems for low latency and high throughput.
- Distribute workloads across compute clusters.
- Enhance execution algorithms to improve reliability and trading efficiency.

7. Risk & Reliability
- Implement risk controls, compliance checks, and monitoring systems.
- Develop fail-safes, alerting, and fallback mechanisms.
- Conduct stress testing and scenario analysis for strategy resilience.

8. Enhancing Phoenix Copilot (AI-Powered Quant Assistant)
- Collaborate with AI/ML engineers to strengthen Copilot’s ability to generate and refine quant strategies from natural language prompts.
- Translate AI-generated ideas into executable strategies using AlgoBulls’ proprietary pyalgotrading framework.
- Build validation and risk-screening pipelines for Copilot-generated strategies.
- Expand backtesting, simulation, and multi-asset class coverage.
- Enhance explainability features for better rationales, risk metrics, and performance insights.
- Optimize live deployment pipelines for real-world execution.
