CBSE Class 10, 12 board exams start, 42 lakh students set to appear at 7,800 centres

The CBSE Board Exams 2025 for both 10th and 12th started on 15th February 2025 with around 42 lakh students about to take the exams across 7,800 centers all over the nation and abroad.

As per board authorities, 24.12 lakh students appeared for CBSE Class 10 Exams in overall 84 subjects, whereas a total of 17.88 lakh students appeared for the CBSE 12th Exams for over all 120 subjects. The exams were conducted across 7,842 centers in India and at 26 centers out of India.

For the first day, CBSE Class 10 students took the exam for English (Language and Literature) and English (Communicative) papers, whereas for Class 12 students the first day paper was Entrepreneurship.

The CBSE 10th Board Exams conclude on 18th March 2025 whereas CBSE 12th Board Exams end on 4th April 2025.

The CBSE has also started its yearly counselling service prior to board exams to relieve students from examination fever and encourage them during their preparations. A senior board official stated “A team of 66 trained professionals principals, counsellors, special educators from CBSE-affiliated schools, and psychologists will offer voluntary support to students. The services are available between 9.30 am to 5.30 pm from Monday to Saturday.” More over he said, “Fifty-one counsellors are based in India, while 15 counsellors will connect from Nepal, Japan, Qatar, Oman, and the United Arab Emirates to guide students."
