About the Job
Key responsibilities:1. Prepare and file corporate income tax returns (including Form ITR-6 or applicable) within statutory timelines
2. Ensure timely payment of advance tax, TDS, and other tax liabilities
3. Handle computation of taxable income as per Income Tax Act, including disallowances, deductions, and MAT/AMT where applicable
4. Monitor and ensure compliance with all provisions under the Income Tax Act, 1961
5. Prepare and reconcile tax provisions as per books vs tax computation
6. Manage tax assessments, respond to departmental notices, and represent the company before tax authorities when required
7. Ensure compliance and timely filing of TDS returns (Form 24Q, 26Q, etc.) and issuance of TDS certificates (Form 16/16A)
8. Coordinate with external auditors for statutory audit and tax audit processes
9. Prepare audit schedules and financial data for audit purposes
10. Ensure timely and accurate filing of tax audit report (Form 3CD) with all annexures
11. Assist in internal audit processes and ensure corrective actions are implemented
12. Review and implement internal controls relevant to financial reporting and tax compliance
13. Maintain updated documentation of tax positions, working papers, and audit trails
14. Prepare MIS reports on tax compliance status, pending matters, and tax positions for management
15. Monitor changes in tax laws and regulatory guidelines and assess their impact on business
16. Liaise with tax consultants and legal advisors for complex tax positions and litigations
17. Identify tax-saving opportunities within the legal framework
18. Support management in decision-making by providing insights on the tax implications of various transactions
