About Protega:
Protega is pioneering the next generation of AI‑driven warranty and claims management for e‑commerce merchants. Our platform combines computer vision, machine learning, and seamless storefront integrations (Shopify, Magento, custom APIs) to automate claim adjudication with unprecedented speed and accuracy. As we scale, we’re looking for a seasoned Lead Full Stack Developer to architect and drive end‑to‑end product development across our React/Remix front‑ends, Node‑based microservices, AI pipelines, and AWS production infrastructure.


Key responsibilities:

A. Technical Leadership & Architecture
1. Define and own the architecture for our merchant dashboard, Shopify App, and AI‑powered claims engine.
2. Make core decisions on technology stack, microservice boundaries, data stores, and CI/CD pipelines.
3. Mentor and guide a small team of front‑end and back‑end engineers through code reviews, design discussions, and pair programming.

B. Full Stack Development
1. Build and maintain our React/Remix‑based dashboards and customer-facing web apps.
2. Develop robust, scalable Node.js/Express (or similar) services for processing webhooks, claims workflows, and integrations.
3. Design and implement REST and GraphQL APIs for internal use and third‑party integrations (Shopify, carrier tracking APIs, ERP systems).

C. Shopify & E‑Commerce Integrations
1. Lead development of our Shopify App using the Theme App Extension, Ajax Cart API, webhooks, and embedded app SDK.
2. Ensure seamless upsells, cart‑level protection plan embeds, and checkout‑flow orchestration—on free and premium themes alike.
3. Create fallback injection mechanisms for themes without native app blocks.

D. AI & Data Pipelines
1. Collaborate with our ML team to integrate computer‐vision inference services for damage classification.
2. Automate image preprocessing, rule‐engine orchestration, and results feedback loops.
3. Instrument analytics to track model accuracy, claim pass/fail rates, and user interactions.

E. DevOps & Infrastructure
1. Own our AWS (or Fly.io) deployment: containerization (Docker), orchestration, auto‑scaling, logging, monitoring, and secrets management.
2. Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, CircleCI, etc.) to automate builds, tests, and deployments across staging and production.
3. Enforce best practices around security (IAM, VPC, SSL/TLS, data encryption) and compliance.

F. Collaboration & Delivery
1. Work closely with product, design, and customer‑success teams to translate requirements into clear technical tasks and realistic timelines.
2. Break down large features into sprints, define acceptance criteria, and ensure high‑quality deliverables.
3. Communicate status, blockers, and technical trade‑offs clearly to stakeholders and leadership.
