About the Job
Key responsibilities:1. Collect water and soil samples from local lakes, ponds, and wetlands
2. Perform microalgae isolation using enrichment and serial dilution techniques
3. Use microscopy, staining, and culture techniques to identify algae strains
4. Optimize growth conditions such as light, nutrients, and CO₂ levels for different species
5. Conduct CO₂ absorption efficiency tests for selected strains
6. Analyze chlorophyll content and photosynthetic efficiency
7. Maintain detailed lab records of isolated strains and experimental results
8. Prepare reports on promising algae species for air purification applications
Requirements:
1. Pursuing or completed Bachelor’s or Master’s in Microbiology or Biotechnology
2. Possess basic lab skills in microbial culture, microscopy, and biochemical assays
3. Demonstrate interest in environmental microbiology, algae research, and sustainability
4. Ability to work in both lab and field environments
5. Exhibit strong documentation and analytical skills
